Measuring 1 1/2 to 2 inches, have a small percentage of singles. The plant has grass-like foliage that is gray or blue-green in color. Our trials have shown that it blooms late from July to August and is best grown as an annual for cut-flower production. The Chabaud is an old-fashioned type of carnation that dates back to 1904. Originating from the Mediterranean, this flower has a deep emotional connection with people. It is also known as an annual carnation. The flower petals are edible and can be used to garnish salads, desserts, soups, icing, and cold drinks. The flavor of the petals is mild clove, but it is important to remove them from the flower base before consuming as the base can be quite bitter. Non Gmo Open Pollinated USA Grown
